THIRD NATIONAL CONFERENCE OF THE FLAME OF LOVE MOVEMENT IN CANADA

The Flame of Love of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Movement held its Third National Conference on the 13^th of November 2004 with the special presence of Father Gabriel Róna, S.J., International Coordinator of the Movement, who came specially from Hungary to attend this event and to give us a survey of the projects and activities of the Movement throughout the world. Father Róna’s intervention centered on the connection between Fatima and the Flame of Love. He started his talk by quoting the requests of the Virgin Mary at Fatima followed by the ones made to Elizabeth Kindelmann that can be found in her Spiritual Diary ), and can be regarded as a kind of blossoming of the revelations given by the Virgin Mary at Fatima, according to Father Gabriel.

Mr. Michel Quessy, from Quebec, who translated Elizabeth Kindelmann’s Spiritual Diary from Spanish into French, talked about the development of the translation and its different stages. The translation of the 400 page diary is now completed and has been published in a book. The Spiritual Diary is the main pillar on which the spirituality of the Movement is resting, together with the Holy Gospels and the teaching of the Catholic Church.

The National Coordinator, Marcel Dufour, gave us an account of the impressive expansion of the devotion to the Flame of Love of the Virgin Mary in the African continent and of the creation of distribution centers for booklets on the Flame of Love in some African countries. Marcel also stressed the important needs of the Movement in Canada in terms of human forces, as well as of other material needs necessary to carry out what our Blessed Mother, the Virgin Mary, is asking us to accomplish.

The conference ended with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist and the praying of the Rosary before the Blessed Sacrament exposed on the altar. Father Róna concelebrated the Mass and gave the homily.
