ELIZABETH KINDELMANN

Mrs. Elizabeth Kindelmann, who received the revelations of the Lord Jesus Christ and of the Virgin Mary, was born in Budapest, Hungary, in 1913. She was the thirtieth child of a humble family by the name of Szantö. She lost both parents at the age of eleven.

Elizabeth attended school only up to grade four, as it was part of God’s plan for us to understand that it was not Elizabeth, but God Himself speaking through His “human instrument”. She tried three times to enter a convent to become a nun… but in vain.

In 1930, Elizabeth married Karoly Kindelmann, an honest craftsman with whom she spent harmoniously sixteen years of matrimonial life. In 1946, she became a widow with six young children. The struggle to sustain her family proved to be extremely hard, superhuman. She was working one week from 6 am until 2 pm, and the next from 2 pm until 10 pm. She sometimes did two days’ work in one (once in an iron foundry). It is the only way she was able to sustain her family and raise her children.

Her providential mission began in 1961. From then on, we can have a good knowledge of her spiritual itinerary through a 423 page diary hand-written by Elizabeth herself.

Elizabeth died on April 11, 1985, after a long disease endured with patience. She was buried in Erd/Ofalu, some 20 miles south-west of Budapest, on the banks of the Danube river.
